A little about my job:
I get to work with teams of talented hospitality professionals from all walks of life. The hotel department comprises the majority of the crew onboard and is a 24-hour-a-day operation with many logistics that they all take in stride. We do all this with some incredible landmarks and backdrops that would just be unthinkable if doing the same job ashore.
What item is in your suitcase that you couldn’t travel without?
My MacBook Pro to be able to Skype with my family at home.
What’s your most treasured travel souvenir?
Definitely all the photographs I have. In particular a large black-and-white photo of a local Tahitian girl by John Stember (a Vogue magazine photographer). My wife and I met him in a bar in Tahiti and he signed it for us.
What’s the most memorable dish you’ve eaten during your travels?
A huge seafood platter for two on the balcony of the Danieli Hotel in Venice.
What’s your travel motto?
When travelling don’t expect anything to be the same as your home, that’s why you’re travelling.
