A little about my job:

As Captain of Sapphire Princess, I’m currently commanding the ship’s itineraries from Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii. Later in the year, the ship will reposition up to Alaska where I’ll navigate through Alaska from Seattle. Among my priorities as Captain is to make the voyages as smooth and comfortable as possible for our passengers.


What item is in your suitcase that you couldn’t travel without?

A copy of The Book of Common Prayer given to me just before my first sea voyage.


What’s your most treasured travel souvenir?

A model of a Polynesian voyaging canoe which took 300 hours to make from native timbers. It was given to me by a friend in Kona, Hawaii.


What’s the most memorable dish you’ve eaten during your travels?

Fresh from the Atlantic Ocean, oysters on the Île de Ré, France.


What’s your travel motto?

Do the local thing.


Where haven’t you been that’s on your travel bucket list?

To chill out in the Maldives before they disappear.
