A little about my job:

As Maitre d’Hotel, I am responsible for all the food service on board, leading a team of 288 staff. My favorite traveling alarm clock; I don’t like to wake up to a ringing phone.

2.

What’s your most treasured travel souvenir?

My collection of small stones from many of the places I have visited. Machu Picchu and Iceland.

    Ciao Generoso
For my wife Nilda and I, plus our friends the Colavitos, you brought cruising to a new level. You are simply “THE BEST”. If you recall we were on the Ruby Princess 3 yrs ago and I loved it when you made sure to tell me that your ‘pizza guy’ came from my father’s town of Torre Del Greco. Wishing you a great life and continuous smooth seas. Always / ralph

    Dear Generoso,
My family sailed with you to Alaska 25 years ago when you were our waiter, the best waiter we ever had. I found you on the Ruby Princess last year, where you are now the maitre d.
Generoso, if you can remember, I taught you what marshmallow cream was and you were transferred from our ship on day 8 of our 10 day trip. We were devastated.
Well, I am about to book a transatlantic on the Ruby and I pray you will be sailing with us again. You made the trip extra special and we often think of you. Stay well and best wishes always.

    Hi Generoso.
I came across the numerous phototographs I have of you and I pouring the champagne waterfall today. They brought back such lovely Cruise memories and I can’t wait for the launch of Royal Princess in May 2013. I do so hope you will be Maitre D’Hotel on the new ship as you are simply the best! I miss you very much and hope our paths will cross again soon. Much love. Patricia.

    Hi Generoso,

This was our first sailing with Princess, what a wonderful experience our group of fourteen had in the Botticelli Dinning room every evening 8:30 setting…thanks to you and the staff. We had the pleasure of being served by two incrediable servers, Maryna and Kristina, from the Ukraine. I’m wondering if you can help me out? In our travels home, we have missed placed their email addresses. Can you please pass my address onto them and have them contact us? We have promissed to send our dinning room photos to them, only to be disappointed with the loss of their contact information. I’m sure you will remember me, I’m the “Bucklers” man on your most recent sailing from Barcelona to Venice…Thanking you in advance for your help.

I just was looking at my digital photo frame that runs constantly here in one of my many hotel rooms (I, too, travel for a living) and there was the photo of you and I pouring the champagne waterfall. My thoughtful man took me on the Ruby this past March for my 50-again birthday party. Thank you so much for being part of it and giving my that wonderful memory and photo.

Hi Generoso, my favourite Maitre D’hotel. We have had the privilege of sailing with you many times, also with Sergio, one of your great Head Waiters. Is there a way we can find out what ship you are scheduled to be on so we can come and see you again?

  41. J Russell says... September 6, 2011 | 9:13am

I have done many cruises with different cruise lines. I was on the Ruby Princess last year (Rome to Barcelona) and my daughter requested that care be taken with her food because of a shellfish allergy. I found your dedication to your job, and your genuine help for passengers throughout the cruise to be truly inpirational. Your commitment and genuine warmth were instrumental in making a memorable cruise, and I amm pleased to have the opportunity to thank you.

  42. Steve Deas says... September 6, 2011 | 8:10am

Nice to read about you being taking out for a meal, you must let me do the same for you the next time you visit Scotland and try some real Haggis.
Hope to cruise with you again soon.

    yours Steve
